Construction Challenges – New Build, Refurbishment, and Retrofit
Construction, whether it be new build, refurbishment, or retrofit, can often pose unexpected or peculiar access challenges. Whilst structures should be designed and projects planned with buildability in mind, it is not always the case that there is a straightforward, traditional solution.
Architecturally unusual structures, industrial facilities, complex infrastructure and high-level locations all present their own access challenges. Add uneven ground or areas over water, and conventional access methods can quickly become difficult. These are the environments where our experience in specialist access and construction really comes into its own.
When access via MEWPs or scaffold is not possible, too expensive, or too invasive, rope access and access platforms are almost always the preferred solution. They typically offer less disruption, are less invasive and more cost-effective.
Rope Access and Bespoke Access Solutions
Rope access can provide an efficient alternative to traditional access methods where scaffolding, MEWPs or other plant are impractical, restricted or disruptive. Our IRATA-trained technicians can access difficult work locations while carrying out construction and installation activities at height.
Where rope access alone isn’t suitable, we can design and install bespoke access solutions to provide a safe and practical working platform. These can include temporary access platforms, suspended systems and structural access solutions designed around the specific requirements of the building, structure or installation.

All of which have their own purpose and can be adapted to suit the needs of each site and location.
By combining rope access with bespoke and conventional access methods, we can develop an access strategy around the work rather than trying to adapt the work to a standard access solution.
