In 2011 and again in 2016, CAN was requested to undertake an inspection of the roofs to the abutments and towers to the iconic Grade I listed Tower Bridge for the City of London.

Site constraints included complex industrial rope access techniques and rigging to access the required pitched locations, in addition to working over a live road, a live footpath and navigable tidal river.

Loose and potentially dangerous roof elements were removed safely at the time of inspection.

Defects were described, measured and suitably located on annotated drawings for the client to interpret in a final report.

The project was undertaken and completed during standard weekday shifts with minimal interference to the general public.
