CAN was requested to undertake a principle inspection to the iconic Golden Jubilee Footbridges in London.
The inspections included all cables, masts, soffits and lower level steelwork. Paint thickness tests were also taken at the time of inspection. Site constraints included working over water during day and night shifts and working alongside FM Conway technicians re-lamping the structure.
CAN used a variety of rope access techniques supported with CAN-Span working platforms to ensure all elements could be reached safely and efficiently. A safety boat was employed to provide rescue cover to rope access technicians working on the towers, piers and soffit of the bridge.
Defects were described, photographed and recorded on annotated drawings for the client to interpret in the final report.
