CAN Structures Ltd was awarded a 3-year contract by The Wheatley Group to undertake inspections on 136no. high rise structures across Glasgow.

Using specialised rope access techniques, façade inspections were undertaken which identified and recorded the type, location and size of the façade defects. Photographic evidence of typical and atypical defects is also presented. Based on the inspection report findings repair programs were generated.

The site works faced several challenges, including adverse weather conditions, as well as the management and control of pedestrians and third parties due to the project’s location in a residential area.

CAN Structures Ltd was subsequently awarded a further 2-year extension to the ongoing inspection, maintenance and repair strategy across all 136 sites in the Glasgow high rises.
