Supporting Wheatley Group over 3 years in Glasgow
CAN was appointed to inspect 136 high-rise residential buildings across Glasgow. The successful delivery of the programme led to a further two-year contract extension for ongoing inspection and repair works.
CAN Structures Ltd was awarded a 3-year contract by The Wheatley Group to undertake inspections on 136 high-rise structures across Glasgow.
Using specialised rope access techniques, façade inspections were undertaken to identify and record the type, location and size of the façade defects. Photographic evidence of typical and atypical defects was also presented in a report to the client. Based on the inspection report findings, repair programs were generated and delivered at a later date.
The site works faced several challenges, including adverse weather conditions and the management and control of pedestrians and third parties due to the project’s location in a residential area.
CAN Structures was subsequently awarded a further 2-year extension to the ongoing inspection, maintenance and repair strategy across all 136 sites in the Glasgow high rises.
