At CitizenM Tower Hill, CAN was tasked with removing suspended kinetic artwork from the hotel’s central lightwell, completing the work safely and efficiently while the hotel continued to welcome guests.
Citizen M Hotel – Art Installation Removal
CAN was contracted to undertake the removal of 14 kinetic art pieces that were suspended within the internal lightwell at the Citizen M Hotel in Tower Hill, London.
Before the removal of the suspended art, electricians isolated the power required to drive the artwork. Working on a simple permit to work system, CAN operatives utilised industrial access techniques to reach the installation and carefully dismantle the art and lower to the lightwell deck.
Hotel operations continued during the works, the only disruption was caused by the need to isolate the lightwell for the duration of the works and the consternation of the residents whilst they observed the advanced rigging techniques used by the CAN team. The artwork was collected intact and on schedule.
