CAN has extensive experience in the installation of Safespan® suspended decking systems, having carried out the worlds largest installation during strengthening works to Tinsley Viaduct, Sheffield in 2003.
What is Safespan?
Safespan® is a unique, patented suspended decking system that has been used extensively in both North America and Europe since its introduction in 1996.
The Safespan® system comprises only 3 primary components; support cables, profiled steel sheeting and steel clips. The simplicity of the installation enables large areas of decking to be installed quickly and can provide a fully encapsulated and edge protected work area.
When assembled, the system provides a high load bearing, stable working deck which due to its lightweight design imparts minimal self loads onto the supporting structure. A further advantage is offered in areas of restricted headroom such as overbridge deck soffits, due to the minimal depth occupied by the decking system itself.
