Introduction
Sprayed concrete's principal uses in the fields of slope and wall stabilisation are to:
- Provide a rigid facing in conjunction with soil nails or anchors on steep faces
- Give support to discrete rock masses by way of dentition
- Mitigate the effects of weathering and seal joints
- Stabilise badly degraded walls prior to installing tie-back anchors or similar
- Replace cast in situ concrete in specific difficult access locations
CAN's Capabilities
CAN is a member of the Sprayed Concrete Association. We apply both wet and dry sprayed concrete as appropriate, using experienced and accredited nozzlemen to deliver a high quality product irrespective of the location.
Steel and polypropylene fibres are used to improve durability and strength characteristics, whilst we use special cement types and pigments to improve the colour match in environmentally sensitive locations.
As with dentition, CAN pays particular attention to draining sprayed concrete walls and facings by means of back wall filter systems and weepholes.
