As part of the ongoing maintenance plan to the south stand at the home of Manchester United football club, emergency repairs were required to the cladding panels and the supporting steelwork above.
Corrosion had led to the failure of a number of the many hundreds of brackets that hold the canopy cladding panels together, some of which had fallen to the area below.
CAN was brought in to design an access system and repair strategy that would create the least possible disruption to the day-to-day activities of the club.
Use of our own lightweight CAN-Span cradle system meant that, bar a small ‘footprint’ directly below, all operations carried on as normal for the club and no access was required onto the pitch.
